Working On My Stash

So I discovered www.instagram/yarnbombs and his installation art and I thought what a perfect way to use up random little balls of yarn and get involved in someone’s artwork! ( I also give my yarn to the local grocery store who donates it to high schools that make blankets for Warm Up America) .

But I thought this would be fun and I had to get it sent before Sept 30 to participate. So here are my fun squares ! And Yarnbombs gives a shout out to me and will post my links YAY!! So that’s kinda cool!

Can’t wait to see the finished product!!!IMG_2122.JPG

I started it thinking “what is this all about?” But pretty much instantly enjoyed taking photos and trying new shots. I’ve become a bit of a instagram addict.  Do you love it? Are you on it? Or do you avoid it (like my hubby)? Now I’m always on the lookout for a cool shot. I thought I’d share some with you. If you’re on Instagram take a look at my scenery and knit projects. My username is bylala2. Please feel free to share your instagram page with me, I love to follow others and see the beautiful sites from all over the world!

Unexpected Friendship

I love when friendships spring from situations.

I started conversing with Angela through an Etsy Team, she was looking for help with her shop Inspired by Gianluca and not getting any response, so she got frustrated. I saw her comments and immediately took a look at her shop and gave her some feedback.

Like her I too have been trying to figure out my Etsy Shop, are my items good, should I make something else. So I just gave her some thoughts about her shop. Since Then We have become customers to each other and friends. We are helping market each other and help each other create a marketplace for our stores. Here is something I had Angela make for my Son’s room. She’s now posting it as a make to order for anyone’s baby’s room. I’m getting another made for my nephew. Image

Cute right? She’s got other great artwork in her store and she can make just about anything you want. That’s the great thing with Etsy. You can start a conversation with your customer and have things specifically crafted just for them, their baby or house. And that in turn helps shop owners to know what people are interested in, and what might sell better.

Here is what I made for Angela,

Now I have to admit when she asked me to make the hat, I was a bit terrified as I had never made anything like it, but I”m glad she pushed me a little out of my comfort zone and I got to make something new. And it gave me ideas for future items to sell. So thanks Angela for being Such an awesome customer and new friend!ImageImage
