So I have had crickets for activity for my store for a while. Just nothing going on… I’m promoting my little brains out and FINALLY!!! Got some action!!
I had a customer request a yellow purse with a blue strap and a button closure…so here it is. And now off to make a baby jacket and bear for another. KEEP IT COMING!!!!
Yup It’s been AGES! With sick kids and crazy snow and snow days galore, it’s been a little crazy and I’ve been off the Blog circuit. So hopping back on the horse. Christmas was busy crazy with knitting for family and friends. Yup just family and friends. But still immensely rewarding. Here are some of the things I knit for them.
I made this for my Niece and let me tell you , I want one too! I got the pattern from https://www.etsy.com/shop/AnaidDesigns She’s got some great patterns!
I made the skull poncho for my Nephew’s daughter and the Poncho for a friends daughter. I wanted to make one more for another friend but ran out of time.
What I didn’t take pictures of Arm warmers, 3 scarves and a Capelet …
But I did this in Grey and a Variegated turquoise blue yarn. And I had started in October! Clearly not early enough and because I was so ahead I thought “OH I have SO much time” and then it was 2 days before Christmas and I was knitting till midnight every night. Sigh. Note to self, start earlier and don’t think you have all the time in the world!
So that is my catch up. Hopefully I will stay on time of it a bit better!
So I discovered www.instagram/yarnbombs and his installation art and I thought what a perfect way to use up random little balls of yarn and get involved in someone’s artwork! ( I also give my yarn to the local grocery store who donates it to high schools that make blankets for Warm Up America) .
But I thought this would be fun and I had to get it sent before Sept 30 to participate. So here are my fun squares ! And Yarnbombs gives a shout out to me and will post my links YAY!! So that’s kinda cool!
Can’t wait to see the finished product!!!
Here is a shot I found of Yarnboms… doing his art
I did it!! I finished my 12 sweaters and hats. I was asked by Born Yesterday a baby boutique in Philadelphia to make them sweaters! Here the are! Whew!
So thrilled to be done and able to work on some fall inventory for my store.
All knitters know what I’m talking about.
I make soft fluffy plush baby sweaters and I use patons melody yarn. I love how soft it is the colors it comes in and it’s squishy.
I got asked to make a baby neutral blanket and sweater and hat for a baby gift. So I went with greens and wanted a green to go with the blanket.
So I picked out a totally different yarn…
And it did not work. So I ripped it out.
This is a part of knitting my Hubby loves to participate with he loves to rip my work out.
It was too tight just not the right kind of yarn. So this yarn may get made into a cowl or something else. But decided to stick with my patons melody and white goes with this blanket. So…
This is the sweater she’s getting with the blanket. But always good to try something new!
So that title isn’t totally true. The weekend after I had time to knit. But when your in pain you don’t really want to do anything. So I did get some knitting time. But then my hubby went on a 3 day business trip leaving me to hobble after the children. No knitting possible while hobbling.
So how did this happen you wonder. Or at least the X-Ray tech did. Well, my almost 2 yr old was next to me standing on one of the tall kitchen stools and decided to start dancing around. I had my arm around him just incase so when the stool tipped my grip tightened and not paying attention to the stool didn’t notice it falling for my feet. Yup, collective cringe and you know what happened next. My almost 2er heard a lot of words he had never heard before. And then we both cried together.
